How to connect and use it

In the browser

Nothing to install. Works on any computer, including someone else’s.

1. Open the cloud address

   Go to drive.mon.az, enter your username and password and click “Log in”.

2. Upload files

   Drag files into the browser window or click “+” → “Upload file”. Folders, documents and spreadsheets are created there too.

3. Keep an eye on space

   Usage is shown at the bottom left in the cloud and in your account. Deleted files stay in the trash and take up space until it is emptied.

iPhone and iPad

The official Nextcloud app: files, photo auto-upload, access from the iOS Files app.

1. Install the app

   Find the Nextcloud app in the App Store and tap “Get”.

   Open in the App Store

2. Enter the server address

   Tap “Log in” and enter drive.mon.az. The sign-in page will open.

3. Sign in and grant access

   Enter your username and password, then tap “Grant access”. If cloud 2FA is on, enter the code from your authenticator app.

4. Done

   Your files are available in the app. The cloud also appears in the system Files app → Browse → Nextcloud.

Android

The Nextcloud app from Google Play or F-Droid. Works on phones and tablets.

1. Install the app

   Open Google Play, find Nextcloud and tap “Install”.

2. Enter the server

   Tap “Log in” and enter drive.mon.az. The sign-in page will open.

3. Sign in

   Enter your username and password and tap “Grant access”. The app will ask for permission to access files — allow it so that auto-upload works.

4. Adjust the settings

   In the menu → Settings, turn on photo auto-upload and choose Wi-Fi only to save mobile data.

Windows, macOS, Linux

The sync client creates a folder on your computer whose contents always match the cloud, like Dropbox or OneDrive.

1. Download the client

   Download the “Desktop client” for your system from the official website and install it like any program.

2. Connect to the server

   Click “Log in” and enter https://drive.mon.az. A browser window opens: sign in and click “Grant access”.

3. Choose a folder

   Choose where to keep files on your computer. On Windows and macOS turn on “Virtual files”: all files are visible, but only opened ones are downloaded.

4. Use it like a normal folder

   Anything you put in this folder appears in the cloud and on your other devices. A green tick means the file is synced.

Photo auto-upload from your phone

1. Turn on auto-upload

   iPhone: “More” tab → “Auto upload”. Android: menu → “Auto upload”. Choose the albums to back up.

2. Take photos as usual

   New photos and videos upload automatically. On iPhone keep the app running in the background: iOS limits background uploads.

How to share a file

1. Create a link

   Click the share icon next to a file and choose “Create link”. You can also share with another cloud user by name.

2. Protect the link

   In the link settings, set a password and an expiry date. Send the password separately from the link, for example by phone.

Connect as a network drive (WebDAV)

For advanced users: the cloud appears as a drive in your file manager without installing anything. With 2FA on, you need a separate app password (see below).

Protecting your cloud sign-in

Two-factor authentication for your account is turned on in the Security section. For the cloud itself it has to be enabled separately — it takes a minute.

1. Install an authenticator

   Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 2FAS or Aegis will do. If you already use one for your account, use the same app.

2. Enable TOTP in the cloud

   In the cloud in your browser, open your avatar → Settings → Security and enable “TOTP”. Scan the QR code and enter the code to verify.

3. Save the backup codes

   In the same settings, click “Generate backup codes” and keep them somewhere safe. Apps on your phone and computer will also ask for a code.

4. Passwords for individual programs

   For WebDAV and programs that cannot enter a code, create an “app password” under Devices & sessions. You can also disconnect a lost phone there.
